Footballer receives ?lynch? threat on Twitter

Jason Brown reports racial abuse to police who are investigating the incident

POLICE HAVE confirmed that they are investigating an incident involving footballer Jason Brown who was racially abused on social network website Twitter.

Speaking after Wales? 2-1 victory over Scotland on October 13, Welsh goalkeeper Brown ? who sat on the bench during the World Cup qualifier - said on Twitter: ?What a game. Both sets of fans were brilliant. The Tartan Army was strong.?

However, one user responded saying: ?F*** off you d***** c***!!! Hope you get lynched.?

The 30-year-old Aberdeen player reported the incident to police who confirmed in a statement that they are looking into the matter.

?We have received a report from a footballer of an offensive racist comment sent to him over a social networking site. The matter is being investigated,? said Grampian Police.
